Lunar Eclipse: StoryTelling + Ritual

It is said that saying a mantra aloud under a lunar eclipse carries the power of speaking it 1000 times.

According to astrologers, eclipse seasons can be chaotic, intense, and often challenging, as we experience many realignments and revelations in a short amount of time. This can create destabilizing energy, so it's best to practice rituals that ground you and support you in your stillness, and reflections.

A Recap of BDC’s Lunar Moon Circle

BDC leaned into the power of storytelling to activate the feminine perspective and voice with the help of the lunar eclipse energies.

On Sunday, May 16th, 2022, BDC gathered 15 women for a virtual moon ritual, meditation, and gathering right before the lunar eclipse that took place from 8:29-9:55pm PDT. We were guided by guest teacher Norma Rubio, meditation teacher, and award-winning storyteller.

Together, we spoke our names and locations aloud, calling in from all over the US, one woman in Mexico and another from the UK. We talked about the power and influence of the moon. We unpacked how the moon has the ability to alchemize the sun's golden rays into silver light that activates our intuition and subconscious desires. We talked about the energies of a lunar eclipse, a blood or red moon, that invites our bodies and hearts for our bodies and hearts to experience a new kind of darkness. We remembered how we are all connected and impacted by the moon and its influence over our world and our own bodies' waters.

Visioning With Ease

We offered a guided meditation as we explored what life would look, taste, sound, smell, feel like 1 year from now.[...] The future was not only more accessible from this sacred feminine gathering space, but all the visions felt palpable and real– like they were partly realized already and there was no doubt they would come into fruition.

We broke out into smaller groups and shared our visions aloud to one another, being witnessed by each other and the potent celestial energies at play.

We closed with a water ritual, by speaking our vision into bowls of water, and leaving them out under the lunar eclipse for the blessings and transmutations of the powerful moon energies gift us all.

Ritual Ideas for Future Lunar Eclipses
